About Me

I learned to crochet at age eight when my grandma taught me to make simple round potholders. I loved to crochet but put it aside for a while - got married, had two daughters (now grown with babies of their own - Allie and Brayden pictured on my website). I loved crocheting Barbie clothing, Cabbage Patch clothing, dish cloths, table cloths, doilies, potholders and afghans for myself and others, as well as for Christmas gifts.

I've done most crafts - sewing, macrame´, cross-stitch and other needlework, painting on clothing, etc. Next to crocheting, sewing was my favorite pastime. I used to sew matching outfits for my baby daughter and me. I made and sold American Girl doll clothing, and I also made most of my own dresses and suits for my office job.

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1988, and when it worsened in 2002, I was forced out of my job. That's when my sister suggested I put my crochet talent to work. Jodi (AngelThreads.com) created and ran BabyThreads.net in 2002 while I did the crocheting. She also created GrannieThreads.com for our mom who crochets with thread. When Jodi decided to give over all aspects of the site to me, she created this new site, which is up to date and easy for me to run.

I love crocheting and making adorable outfits for babies. A lot of the clothing is my own design that I have made with no pattern. Unless otherwise noted, all of the items posted are already made. Most are unique and one-of-a-kind, unable to be identically duplicated. However, if you see something you'd like in a different size or color, contact me and for a $5.00 fee, a similar item can be made as a "custom order".
